As a follower of my blog, you know that my mission is to help as many people as possible accelerate their career success. Without a doubt, you will not be able to accelerate your career success unless you pay significant attention to building and managing your personal brand. Recently the concept of personal branding has received tremendous press and a great deal of the credit for that goes to personal branding pioneer Dan Schawbel. If you haven’t read Dan’s book Me 2.0, get on Amazon and order a copy quickly. He provides more practical and effective advice in 235 pages than in any book I have read in years.  Additionally, I find Dan’s blog to be one of the most valuable resources on the web.

personal-branding-blog1But that is not why I am writing today. I am writing because I was lucky enough to preview the latest issue of Dan’s Personal Branding Magazine and it is indeed the best resource yet on personal branding.  The issue is dedicated to Female Power Brands and as my wife is the CFO of a major national quick-service restaurant, my sister is a lawyer (graduated from University of Michigan Law) and corporate counsel for a major publisher, my sister-in-law is the former CFO of a Fortune 20 company and I am surrounded by many other highly successful women, I read the entire issue with great interest and enthusiasm. What you should know is that each of my wife, sister and sister-in-law feel that it is important NOT to consider gender as a factor at any time in business and Co-editor Miriam Salpeter makes sure to point this out: “I hope we don’t run the risk of marginalizing the female contribution to the (personal branding) movement.  Rather, it is a great opportunity to showcase some women whose work and insights are unique and significant.”

So, although the latest issue focuses on the significant contributions of women to personal branding, it is also loaded with information essential to both women and men, including for example:

You can check out a free sample of this issue here: www.personalbrandingsample.com

You can purchase a subscription to see the full issue of this and future issues here: www.personalbrandingmag.com

Note that 50% of the proceeds from Personal Branding Magazine go to The American Cancer Society; a very important cause for me.
