Career Books That Were Rejected by Publishers (or at least would be)

As I’ve shared before on this blog, I have taken my years of experience as a professional coach and successful entrepreneur and written a book that filled from cover to cover with advice that will help you advance your own career.  There are many great books on the market that focus on professional development and reaching career goals, many of which I have posted along the side of this blog.  I highly recommend every one of these books and they are all worth a thorough read.

Along the other end of the spectrum, I decided to brainstorm a few titles in the “career” or “self-help” genres that have not made the cut yet.  What are your thoughts on some of these fictional publications, destined never to be bestsellers?

Get Promoted for Just Showing Up – Learn how to get big raises and promotions by consistently arriving late, leaving early and cruising the Internet all day.

That’s Not My Job — 50 ways to tell a shopper, “I don’t work in this department,” “It’s time for my break,” and “I don’t know why this item isn’t showing up as being on sale and I’m not going to look into it for you.”

The Next Round is on Me — A how-to book on how to impress your employer at a company happy hour by drinking a few too many and then making inappropriate comments about your co-workers.

Is It 5:00 Yet? — A detailed tutorial for middle management explaining the absolute minimum you need to do during a work day to keep your job but never receive a promotion.

My Boss (and/or Co-Workers) Are Idiots – The complete guide to deflecting accountability and learning to blame everyone else for your career woes.   I have a great post on this one.

Put Your Resume on Monster and Forgetaboutit! – Why the 1990′s strategy for job search endures.

Not really motivational, but I bet someone would write them!

Do you have any other ideas for the “anti-career advancement” book?  Share your titles with us!

And what are your favorite real career advancement books?  Please share them as well!
