Are You Excited Today?

Are you beginning this New Year with a sense of excitement for the work you do every day?  Or, do you drive to the office dreading the same routine that offers you no personal or professional satisfaction?  If you cannot answer “yes” to the first question, let 2010 be the year that you make some changes to the direction of your career.

If it’s true that happiness is contagious, then I highly recommend a recent post that Amber Sosa posted on her blog, The Pursuit of It All.  In an entry she entitled, “You Have to Like It … Your Job That Is,” Amber shares the passion and excitement that she feels every day for her work in the field of transportation engineering.  She compares her emotions to those of a little kid at the zoo and explains how she brings her husband to each work site to boost out of the carefully designed project details.  I think it’s wonderful that she even admits to still getting butterflies when thinking about her work!  How many of you are able to say that?  Many of you, I hope.

If you aren’t happy in your current position, are there some changes that you make in regards to how you are approaching the work that may result in more fulfillment and excitement?  Or, are all the signs pointing in the direction of a need to find a new career altogether?  Whatever the case may be, my expertise can help you work towards the goal of finding that place in your career at which you are feeling the butterflies!

If you haven’t done so already, check out my prior blog posts where I share my proven techniques for accelerating in your career and getting that raise you have been wanting for years.  If you follow the ideas that I offer, you may even rekindle the excitement for work that long ago became nothing more than a daily obligation.  Good luck and I hope that I can help you!
