Who Will Portray Your Professional Success?

By now, you likely have seen the television commercials sharing the upcoming release of the movie The Social Network, an anticipated film that claims to tell the story of the men who started Facebook–Mark Zuckerberg and several of his college roommates and fellow computer science students. By many accounts, the movie’s plot and character depictions are largely fiction and Zuckerberg has shared that he will refuse to watch it when released on October 1.

Zuckerberg launched Facebook from his dorm room during his sophomore year at Harvard.  A website that was originally intended for students on the Ivy League campus now boasts more than 500 million users worldwide. Zuckerberg dropped out of Harvard to focus on his growing online social experiment and earned the title of the youngest self-made billionaire in history when he was only 23 years old.   It isn’t surprising that such an amazingly successful young man who created a website that many of us visit every day would be of interest to movie goers, even if extensive creative license is understood.

While I imagine that you do not strive to advance in your career and come up with innovative ideas for your company with the hopes of having a movie made about your success, there is always that chance!  If Hollywood calls you and asks who should portray you on the big screen, will you be ready with an answer?

There are certainly the traditional and expected options of Tom Cruise, Denzel Washington, or Meryl Streep. But, maybe you want to think outside the box and offer a more suprising suggestion.  This is your chance to have your marginally accurate story told to the viewing masses, so make your choice a good one!

Let us know — who is the best person to play the role of you when the cameras roll to share the story of your professional success?
